A Stroll to Alice

Amelia: Today my housemate decided that he was going to walk to Alice Springs. Not in a 'haha how cool would that be' kind of way, but in a, 'I've already bought my thermals, I won't be here when you wake up' kind of way. As if this wasn't enough, he did not even have the decency to tell me. I instead discovered the news via my Facebook news feed. This has left me in the awkward position where I am the only person living in an ancient, creaking, 6 person share-house.

Josie: So, while he sets off on his 2,226 k walk, A and I decided we should set off on something ourselves. But, ours would remain a little closer to home. We're not exactly as sure of our 'direction' as he is, but we figured we should at least start something. As we sit in our favourite little bar sipping glasses of the house red and writing this first entry, this guy is potentially huddled under a bus stop in Bordertown. Phoneless, alone and eating a can of lemon and cracked pepper tuna. Because that's the only food he packed. Are we worried? Yes. But we're also helpless.

Amelia: So, Rayne, if you're out there, and miraculously discover this blog at some random little internet cafe, this is for you. May you a.) survive b.) make it back in time for uni and c.) fulfil whatever strange desire you're aiming to fulfil right now. Props to you for being so adventurous. But you're also fucking stupid.
